**obituary The Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, December 28, 1928:
Thos. Skidmore Dead
Thos. U. Skidmore, aged about 67 years, died at the home of his daughter in Huron vicinity, last Monday night, following a lingering illness. Burial took place in the Tremble Campground cemetery Tuesday, services being in charge of the Odd Fellow, of which order deceased was a member. Mr. Skidmore was born and reared in this county and was a highly respected citizen.
