Maxine Gaught Swan, 93, of Crossett, died Sunday, June 20, 2004. Born May 18, 1911, to J M "Matt" and Rosie Jordan Gaught, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crossett for over 50 years where she was a member and past secretary of the Willie Spivey Sunday School Class. She retired from Georgia Pacific Corp. after 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Swan; two brothers, a sister, and a son-in-law, Joe Currie.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Marter of Crossett; four grandchildren, Janee McClain, Joellen Johnson, Ricky and Ronnie Currie; six great-grandchildren ; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, in the First United Methodist Church of Crossett with Rev. Bill Williams officiating. Pallbearers were to be Victor Farmer, Matt Johnson, Marty McClain, Donald Martin, Ken Taylor and Tom Pat Cook. Interment was to follow services at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Crossett.
