Lucy Estelle Murphy Swan, 91, of Crossett died Friday, May 9, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare of Crossett. Born June 17, 1911, in Crossett to Charles "Ed" and Isa Dee Maxwell Murphy, she was a member of Wallers Chapel Methodist Church. She was a member of Sunshine Friends, a long-time Sunday School teacher of preschoolers and a member of the Ladies Quilting Circle. Survivors include one son, Jerry Swan of Crossett; one brother, N.B. "Nap" Murphy of Hamburg; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Swan. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Wallers Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Elrod officiating. Burial was at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers were Rory D. Swan, Jeffrey Johnson Sr., Henry "Hank" Williams, Luke Clark, and Bobby Glen Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Michael "Bodhi" Williams and Jeffrey "Drew" Johnson Jr.
