John Bell Staggs, Sr. husband of Armitte "Mittie" Apaline (Allen) Staggs. John Bell Staggs, Sr. son of John Staggs and Mary Bell Staggs. John was born in Wayne County, Tennessee died in Dolph, Izard County, Arkansas.

Aged Lady Passes Away

Mrs. Apalino Staggs, age about 80 years, died on Friday, October 8th at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe Estes, near Cross Roads, following a lingering illness from the infirmities of advanced age. Mrs. Staggs was one of the oldest residents of the county and was known to a large circle of friends. She was a devout and consecrated Christian, having been a member of the M. E. Church South, for many years.

Her husband died several years ago.

Deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters – J. A. Staggs of this place, Dave Staggs of Cross Roads, Felix Staggs of Searcy, Mrs. Maggie Brown of Oklahoma and Mrs. Willie Copeland and Mrs. Mattie Estes of Cross Roads.

Burial took place at Tremble Campground cemetery.
