Criminally Murdered
Wife of Ben Diles
Mother & baby were murdered & left in the woods. Effie was shot in the head & her baby's head was crushed with the stock of the same gun. Two weeks later the Little River News reported that the murderer was a suspect & shadowed by two detectives until he broke down & confessed the crime. The motive was robbery.
