Mrs. Minnie Jackson Hale, wife of Edwin K. Hale, former county clerk and treasurer, died at the family home in the Morning Star community, May 20, 1934. Had she lived until September 8th, she would have been 61 years of age. Her death was due to heart failure of which she had been afflicted for the past six months.

Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.S. Hayden of the M.E. Church, South, were held at the family home Monday afternoon. Burial was made in the Barron cemetery near Vaughn.

Music was furnished by the church choir, Mrs. Harry Martin, Mrs. Chas. Poison, Buell Spencer and Forrest Brock, forming a quartet. The pall bearers were: W.T. Dudley, F.P. Galbreaith, John Jackson, Charles Wyman, Will Black and Earle Browne.

Mrs. Hale was born in the Morning Star community Sept. 8, 1873 and was the daughter of Dawson and Joanna Jackson. She joined the M.E. Church, South, at an early age and has been a member of it since.

On October 5, 1892 she was married to Edwin K. Hale, to whom two children were born, Mildred, who pass away in 1917, and Mrs. Ruth Hale Barker, of the home.

Jackson of Tulsa, and Lester Jackson of Okmulgee, and by four sisters, Mrs. Henry McGaugh, of the Bentonville community, Mrs. Bessie Torbett of Avoca, Mrs. Dena McGaugh of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Mrs. Emma Burns of Okmulgee, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
