Lawrence Ballard, Oxford Resident Dies February 4
Funeral services for Lawrence Ballard, aged 81, of Oxford were held at the Forrest Chapel Methodist Church last Thursday By Rev. Y. D. Whitehurst. Mr. Ballard was married to Amanda Herret, who preceded him in death 33 years ago. To this union two sons were born who survive him. On March 10, 1921, he was married to Miss Emma Tatum who also survives him. He was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church. Besides his widow he is survived by his two sons, George Ballard of East St. Louis, Illinois and Ted Ballard of Thayer, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a brother, S. S. Ballard of Oxford. Burial was at the Forrest Chapel Cemetery with Hall Funeral Home in charge.
