Benton County Democrat

Jewel Grimsley, the six year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Grimsley who live near Centerton, was killed by being kicked on the head by a horse Friday evening about 7 o'clock. The accident occurred while the hands were returning from their work. It is supposed the little girl ran up behind the horse while they were being taken to water as the man who was riding one of the horses and leading the other only heard a slight noise and upon looking around saw the little girl laying on the ground apparently dead. Her skull was badly fractured and from the time of the accident until the time of her death, which occurred Saturday night, the child was unconscious. The remains of the little girl were interred Sunday afternoon in the Barron graveyard. The parents have the sincere sympathy of the citizens of this community.
