SILOAM SPRINGS —Leo Milton Bergthold, 81, of Siloam Springs died Oct. 30, 1999, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Colony, Okla., to William E. and Marie Penner Bergthold.

He was a farmer for 12 years while living in Oklahoma and Iowa. In 1951, he moved to Kansas City, where he studied for the ministry. He later ministered in Kansas, Texas, Mexico, Alberta (Canada), Montana and Idaho, including an evangelistic trip to Germany.

He retired to Siloam Springs in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erla Balzer Bergthold.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Ferguson of Crystal Lake. Ill., and Sherrill Corder of Mundelein. Ill.; three grandchildren; four great-grandthldren; four brothers, Ernest Bergthold of Lodi, Calif., LeRoy Bergthold of Shawnee, Kan., Raymond Bergthold of Dallas, Ore., and Bill Bergthold of Siloam Springs; three sisters, Wilma Romine of Gentry, Lodema Vest of Siloam Springs and Inez Couch of Gentry.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Walter Jesser and Bill Bergthold officiating.

Burial will be in Coffelt Cemetery at Highfill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International.
