Russell "Poog" Blye, 76, of Fayetteville, died Nov. 7 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Sept. 23, 1903, at Fayetteville, he was the son of Bill and Nettle Smith Blye. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church, a retired auto body workman, a member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge and the Fayetteville Community Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Blye of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Tremilla Henry of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, the Rev. Mrs. Marie Wingfield of Oakland, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Woods and the Rev. J.L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
Pallbearers will be Henry Childress Jr., Louis Bryant Jr., Bill McPherson, Wayne Wilks, John Colbert and Leortice Smith Sr.
