GHOLSON, Eliza - Died at her home near Mason Valley, Eliza Gholson, wife of Pleas Gholson, at 7:15 a.m. Thursday Jan. 9th, 1901. After a lingering illness of more than two years, gradually developing into that incurable disease, consumption, Mrs. Gholson quietly passed away Jan. 9th in the presence of her husband and children and a few friends. The deceased was born in Hickory county, Mo. December 25th, 1848 and remained there till she moved with her parents to Arkansas and located in the vicinity of Mason Valley. She was married to Pleas Gholson in August 1870 and a few years later she joined the Baptist church in which she has since lived a consistent member. Mother Gholson leaves a devoted husband alone in the world, but looking forward to join his dear companion on the golden shores of eternity. She leaves two sons and four daughters: Sidney and George, Hattie, Tennie, Ginevra, wife of W.T. Maxwell, Rogers, Ark., Fleeda, wife of A.A. Hine, Lexington, Okla.
