Mr. Robert Lee Davis, 79, of Hamburg died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Shreveport, LA. A native of Bernice, LA, he had lived in Hamburg for the past 48 years. A retired truck driver and member of the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Clemmie Davis, on December 25, 1989; his second wife, Mildred Davis, on September 14, 1998; a son, Jackie Davis, on August 8, 1987; his parents, Benjamin and Emma Davis; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors are a son, Charles Edward Davis of Conway; three daughters, Edith Hubbard, Jacqueline Franklin and Monica Tippie, all of Hamburg; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 3, in the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church with Rev. Alfonso Madden officiating. Pallbearers were Archie Huggins, George Howard, Jr., Jack Pippen, Horace Huggins, Robert Hall and Curtis Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Elum Richardson, Robert Council, Elbert Sanders, David McLyn, Jessie Griggs and Robert Cox. Burial followed services at the Pugh Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
