Odessa Brooks Gill, 100, of Bigelow passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Born on September 6, 1911, she was a daughter to the late Lawrence and Bertie Alberta Gill Brooks. Mrs. Gill was a loving person, who enjoyed cooking, quilting and helping to care for her large extended family. She was a member of Bethel AME Church in Bigelow.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Gill; sisters: Tommie Lee Brooks and William Davie; brothers: Jeffery Lee Brooks and Joe Booker Brooks.
Mrs. Gill is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews and her church family.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Bethel AME Church, with Rev. Truman Tolefree officiating. Interment will follow at Casey Cemetery in Bigelow with Tommy Woodards, Glen Tillman, Fredrick Nichols, Artis Evans, Jr., Duane Evans and Wayne Evans serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
