COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Forrest Cole, 88, of Collierville, formerly of Smithville, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Collierville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Portia, she attended Arkansas State University. She worked as a bookkeeper for General Motors in Detroit and for auto dealers in Memphis. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Denton.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Wilkerson of Collierville; two brothers, Floyd West of Portia and Eugene West of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Mary E. Austin of Hoxie; three grandsons, Chuck Trim, Terry Trim and Chris Trim; a stepgranddaughter, Amy French; and nine great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oland M. Cole; her parents, Lawrence and Nettie Wendal West; and one brother.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in New Hope Cemetery in Denton, with Barry Crain officiating. Higginbotham Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

No visitation is planned.
