) Bertha Ann Davis, 65, died Friday, May 13, 2005, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1939, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Frank and Ima L. McGoogan Davis. She was a graduate of Ethel O. Miller High School and worked at Hail Dry Goods Company. She was baptized at an early age at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael E. Davis; a daughter, Penny Davis; a brother, Tommy McGoogan; a sister, Ardean Ramey; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two aunts, Mollie Barris and Johnnie A. Kennard; and a niece, Billie Ramey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandmothers.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. L.A. Bland, Otis Harper and Lewis Justice officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willis Drinkard, N.H. Strong, Daniel Smith, Johnson Kennard, Larry Osborne and Arthur Montgomery.
Honorary pallbearers are Cecil Hennings, Ben Earls, Ernest Vance and Geino Corley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
