Henry J. Estes Dies at Home Thursday

Henry E. Estes, well known citizen of this section died at his home near Jumbo, Thursday morning, October 2 at the age of 69.

Mr. Estes, a life-long citizen of Izard County, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Estes pioneers of this county. He had been in failing health for several months.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Flat Rock with burial in Flat Rock Cemetery. Services were conducted by Elder G. W. Howard of Melbourne. The Hall Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Estes was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leota Estes; three sons, Ray of Washington, Bynum of Arizona and H. Estes of Brockwell, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Reynolds of Arizona and Mrs. June Sacten of Brockwell; five brothers, O. Z. and Albert Estes of Forty-Four, W. J. Estes and Ossie P. Estes of Oklahoma City, Okla., and J. A. Estes of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Dollie Gifford and Mrs. Minnie Clarke of Austin, Texas; Mrs. Olma Harmon of Newburg and Mrs. Mittie Cooper of Marked Tree, Ark.; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
