Burt E. Burnett of Bentonville, Ark., passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at the Circle of Life Hospice at Legacy Village. Burt was born on Oct. 18, 1933, in Beaver, Ark.

Burt joined the Marines in 1952 and fought in the Korean conflict. After the war, he returned to complete his high school education. While a senior in high school, he was a bus driver for the Rogers School District. Burt returned to serve in the Marines until 1962. He has worked in the Texas oil fields, several years with Bear Brand Hosiery in Bentonville and retired from CTS in 1996.

Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Steve Burnett, two sisters, Etheleen Swann and Wanda Coppedge, and one brother, Roland Burnett.

Burt is survived by one sister, two daughters, three sons, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with numerous close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at the Bella Vista Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Interment will follow at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield, Ark.
