Miss Ellen Byram Passes Away Wednesday
Miss Ellen Byram died at her home in the Flat Rock vicinity, Wednesday afternoon.
She had been in failing health for many months, but the direct cause of her death is attributed to an attack of pneumonia which she suffered last week.
Martha Ellen Byram was born in the Flat Rock vicinity, in February, 1873, being 64 years of age. She was converted at the age of 15 and united with the Methodist church at Flat Rock. She was one of the community's most devout Christians and was loved and respected by everyone.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, by her pastor, Rev. L. C. Craig of Calico Rock, assisted by Rev. Robert Robertson, pastor of the Methodist Church of Melbourne. The large number of relatives and friends that attended the burial services showed the appreciation of those who knew Miss Ellen.
Burial was at Flat Rock Cemetery.
Surviving are two sisters, Miss Mary M. Byram of this vicinity and Mrs. Lora Yondell of Branson, Mo., and four brothers, Wm. E. Byram of this vicinity, Stephen J. Byram of Carter, Okla., John T. and Arthur A. Byram of Melbourne.
