Wife to James Harrison Laymon. Mary E. Cotton and James Laymon married in Indiana about 1877-78. He and his parents were residents of Jackson Co in 1870. It is probable that Mary's parents were also in Jackson Co. By 1880 the Laymon families moved to Washington Co. Ark. The Arkansas Death Index lists Mary Ell(a) Laymon's death. She was survived by her husband, a son Clarence M Laymon and daughters Cora and Ida. The California Death Index for Clarence, listed his mother's maiden name as Cotton.
