David Statler
IMBODEN — David A. Statler, 77, passed away Oct. 31, 2015.
He was born Oct. 31, 1938, at Blytheville to Omer and Johna "Johnnie" Gillette Statler.
Dave was known to all around for his massive gardens. He loved to pass along his garden vegetables to family and friends.
Dave worked at Black River Technical College for 30 years before retiring. He was a devoted member of the Imboden Methodist Church.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bobbie, and his wife of 53 years, Sue Hobbs Statler.
He is survived by his daughter, Lacrecia Statler, son, David (Donna) Statler, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Statler, all of Imboden; grandson, Cody (Paige) Statler, and great-granddaughter, Paislie Statler, of Pocahontas; brothers, Elsworth, Charles, Jerry and Larry; and sisters, Bonnie and Joyce.
Visitations will be 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday with funeral services following at 3 p.m. at the Imboden United Methodist Church with Dan Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Cates, Earl Mathews, Butch Dail, Marty Hogan, Gary Meier and Jimmy Lewis.

Margaret Sue Statler, 70, of Imboden, died Oct. 10, 2011, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
She was born Dec. 1, 1940, in Blytheville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ves and Evelyn Hobbs; and her grandmother who raised her, Lula Hobbs.
Survivors include her husband, David Statler Sr.; a son, David Statler Jr., Imboden; a daughter, Lacrecia Statler, Austin, Texas; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Statler and Cody Statler.
Funeral was Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at Imboden Methodist Church with Bob McMillon officiating.
Burial was in Hope Cemetery under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.
