Leatha N. Sims, age 90, of London, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. A daughter of the late William Thomas and Jackson Cappie Raper Vinson, she was born September 18, 1917 at London. She was the widow of Truman Orlander Sims .

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Hoyt E. Sims and W. O. Sims; and all of
her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Troy "Rip" and Shirley Sims of Russellville; Rex C. Sims of Russellville; and Montie and Carla Sims of Dardanelle; a daughter-in-law, Helen Sims of Lodnon; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Claude Jackson and the Rev. Arlin B. Elmore. Burial will be in East Point Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Paul Sims, Kevin Dale Sims, Robby Sims, Todd Weaver, Michael Bonds and B. J. Applegate.



Truman Orlander Sims, age 89, a resident of London, died Friday, September 12, 2003, at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born June 2, 1914, at London, to the late Walter Orlander and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Skinner Sims. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Hoyt Sims; a brother, William A. Sims; 6 sisters, Leonia Dixon, Estella Jones, Bea Martin, Janie Vinson, Clara Whorton, and Vie Vinson; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Sims.

Survivors include his wife, Leatha Sims; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Troy "Rip" & Shirley Sims of Russellville, William Orlander Sims of London, Rex Carl Sims of London, Montie & Carla Sims of Dardanelle, and Helen Sims of London; 2 brothers, Bennie Sims of Dardanelle and Cletis Sims of Vernal, Utah; 8 grandchildren, Paul and Kevin Dale Sims both of London, Robby Sims of Russellville, Lisa Weaver of Russellville, Bill Sims of Russellville, Shelley Applegate of Dardanelle, Jennifer Bonds of Conway, and Jackie Fecher of Little Rock; 9 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.



Pallbearers were Robby Sims, Paul Sims, Kevin Dale Sims, Bill Sims, B. J. Applegate, Todd Weaver, and Michael Bonds.
