Donald Oscar Wilson

Donald Oscar Wilson of Salem, Ark., son of the late Wilbur Oscar and Elsie Grace (Johnson) Wilson, was born March 19, 1932, at Independence, Iowa. He died Nov. 27, 2007, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 75.

He was united in marriage to Diana Marie Plutz on Nov. 30, 1957, at Chicago, Ill. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Donald worked as a brick layer in commercial construction.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Post 9777 in Salem, Ark., the American Legion Post 0844 in Chicago, Ill., and the Elks Club 2539 in Highland, Ark. Donald was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.

He is survived by: his wife, Diana Wilson of Salem; a son, Mark Wilson of Salem; three daughters, Sheryl Adams and husband John of Lansing, Mich., Donna Jones and husband Mike of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Kimberly Krupa and husband Gary of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Joan Joiner of Elgin, Ill.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nancy Lynn Wilson; and a sister, Gladys Florick.

Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Pastor David Tews officiating. Interment was in the Flat Rock Cemetery at Calico Rock, Ark., under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Arrangements were under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem

Pallbearers were John Adams III, Joshua Adams, Daniel Bikulcius, Heidi Poorman, Anthony Waszak and Gene Wermes.

Memorials preferred to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 508 Profession Drive, Horseshoe Bend, AR 72512 or Lutheran Association for Missionary and Pilots U.S., 3525 N. 124th Street, Suit 1, Brookfield, WI 53005-2499.
