See his Military Gravestone
SHERIDAN -- J R Jones, 75, of Sheridan, died Monday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept 24, 1928, at England (Lonoke County), a son of the late William R Jones and Mary Elizabeth Howard Jones. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Arkla Gas Co (now Centerpoint Energy). He was a member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member and past master of the Sheridan Masonic Lodge 260. Survivors include his wife, Jean Darnell Jones; one son, Jimmy Jones of Higdon (Cleburne County); one daughter, Patsy Nowlin of Hot Springs; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan with the Rev Terry Mann officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm today at the funeral home.
