GEORGE, Erma - (from The Siloam Daily) A sad accident occurred at the home of Edward George and wife just east of town at about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon resulting in the death of little Erma George, who would have been four years old Monday. The child was at play with the other children in the yard and their sport led them about the well, an open one with curb. Suddenly a plank under the board floor broke and let Erma fall into the well which was 40 feet deep and contained 20 feet of water. It was some little time before anyone could be secured to go down into the well. John T. Green, a neighbor, was called and soon descended. He found the little girl's body about two feet under water. She had been in the well 15 minutes and life was extinct. In a short time Mr. Green reached the surface with the body and a physician was called but life had left the little form. The funeral was held at the home at 3 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Purlee, interment being made in the George cemetery east of town. The sad circumstances of this death have aroused the profound sympathy of all.
