Mrs. Martha Thomas Passes Away Sunday

Mrs. Martha Thomas, aged 79, wife of "Uncle Tom" Thomas of Dolph, died at her home last Sunday morning, after an illness of several days.

Mrs. Thomas was a native of this county and practically all her life was spent in this section.

She united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church several years ago and lived a most devout Christian until death. She was an outstanding example of a devoted wife and mother and a strict adherent to the Golden Rule. Her death is deeply mourned by all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband, G. W. Thomas, one son J. M. Stone of Rodney; two brothers, W. A. Isam, Viola, Ark., and Otto Isam, Helm, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Casey, Helm, Wash., Mrs. Edna Dunham, Muskogee, Okla., and Mrs. Adlene Bule, Batesville, Ark., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Y. Whitfield of Pineville. Interment was in Wayland Arbor Cemetery.
