Jobe Southard Dies After Brief Illness
Jobe H. Southard, aged about 64, well known citizen of Calico Rock, died last Wednesday morning about two o’clock at his home in the east part of town.
His death came after brief illness, having taken sick last Sunday with pneumonia, which continued to grow worse, resulting in his death.
Mr. Southard was one of the very best citizens of this community and was loved and respected by all who knew him. Practically all his life was spent in this section. He was engaged at farming for many years. After moving to Calico Rock a few years ago, he engaged in the mercantile business, which he continued till the time of his death.
Deceased is survived by his widow, several grown children and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home today (Friday), interment to be at Wayland Arbor Cemetery.
