Martin Alspaugh

Martin L. Alspaugh, age 68, died July 11 at his home, 16 Finger Drive in Bella Vista. Alspaugh served on the board of director of the Property Owners Association for two years before resigning in August 1975 due to prolonged illness.

He was born on November 24, 1907 at Pason, Ok., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Oklahoma A & M (Oklahoma State University). He weoked for M.K.&T. Railroad as a chemist amd material inspector, Mid-Continent Oil Company for two years and Ethyl Corporation of Tulsa for 35 years before retiring in 1971 to Bella Vista.

While here Alspaugh served on the committee to develop rules and regulations for Riordon Hall Recreation Center, the golf committee and the bord of directors. He was also acive in senior golf associations, including Oil Belt, Western and Arkansas groups.

Survivors include his wife Clara of the home; two sons, Martin L. Alspaugh, Jr., of Corpus Christi, Tx., and John T. Alspaugh of Tulsa and seven grandchildren.

Mass service was held at 10 a.m. July 14 at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Rogers with Monsignor Murphy officiating. Burial will be at the Catholic church cemetery also in Rogers under the direction of Callison-McKinney of Bentonville.
