Bertha Irene Mayfield England, age 79, of Houston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born January 17, 1931, in Dale, Arkansas, a daughter of Eli Elihu Mayfield and Martha Emerline Kennedy Mayfield. She was retired from housekeeping and Perry County Nursing Center, a homemaker, of the Church of Christ faith, and the widow of Troy England.
Survivors include her children, Bertha May Kinder (Mike) of Knoxville, Troy Cleo England of Perry, Wanda Marie Carney (Craig) of Quitman, Nancy Lee Johnson of Thornburg, Audrey Kathryn Jones (David) of Oppelo, Roy Leo England (Rose) of Oppelo, James Nelson England (Peggy) of Houston; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and special granddaughter, Samantha Jo Bean; three brothers, Charles and Joe Mayfield both of New Lexington, Ohio, and Verlin Mayfield of Harrison; two sisters, Hattie Wilhite of Prairie Grove, and Judy Riggins of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Ann England, three brothers, Nathan, Roy, and William Mayfield; two sisters, Alice Seals and Edith Grannon.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Perryville Church of Christ with Mr. Charles Bane officiating. Burial will be at McGhee Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, at the funeral home in Perryville. Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Hospice, Inc., 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116, or Alzheimer's Association, 6465 S. Yale, Suite 312, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136-7810.
