After an illness of thirteen days, Mrs. Cyntha M. Thrasher died at her home at this place last Sunday about four o’clock p.m., December 23rd.

Mrs. Thrasher was in comparatively good health until she developed a severe attack of pneumonia and though she battled the malady bravely, her vitality could hold out no longer.

Deceased was 63 years of age. She was born in Baxter County, near Iuka in which vicinity she resided until about seven years ago when she moved to Calico Rock. When quite young she was united in marriage to J. C. Thrasher, whose death occurred a number of years ago. To this union were born eleven children, three sons and eight daughters, who survive, as follows: Frank Thrasher, of Mtn. Home, Ark.; Walter Thrasher, Norfork, Ark.; Charlie Thrasher, Calico Rock; Mrs. Maggie Hall, Wynnewood, Okla.; Mrs. Stella McKinney, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Ethel Long, Cynthians, Ky.; and Mrs. Cora McClellan, Mrs. Dot Lindsey, Mrs. Dove Langston, Misses Theoro and Electra Thrasher of Calico Rock. A brother, B. F. Wayland of Enid, Okla. and a sister Mrs. Belle Thrasher of Red Fork, Okla., also survive.

Mrs. Thrasher united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church many years ago and it goes without saying that she lived a consistent and active member of same throughout the years that followed. She was closely attached to her home life and family typifying the true wife, mother, friend and mother.. Her passing is deeply deplored by the countless number who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday morning at 10 a.m., by her pastor, Rev. D. R. Robertson, burial taking place at Wayland Arbor, near the old home of the deceased, Monday afternoon. A large gathering of relatives and friend attended the services at the home and at the grave.
