Henry Wright " Hank " Hickman, 91, of Winslow died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Fayetteville City Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Millgrove, Mo., to John Isacc and Hazel Della Wright Hickman. He was a retired aviation mechanic. Henry came to Arkansas and lived in the Fayetteville area most of his life. He was an aviation mechanics instructor during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was an instructor in Biloxi, Miss., then later he was based in Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Hank went to work with the Fayetteville Skyways Flying Service in 1946. He was Chief Maintenance Mechanic and worked with them over 30 years. He was also an aircraft inspector for parts of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He received the Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Mechanic Safety Award as the top aviation mechanic in Arkansas for 1971. Gov. Dale Bumpers presented the plaque. He received a plaque presented by Gov. Bill Clinton for Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year from the Arkansas Aeronautics Commission and Arkansas Aviation Historical Society in 1983. Hank also worked at the Springdale Flying Service. He enjoyed flying a plane, and in the 1960's, he helped the Arkansas Forest Service by flying forestry fire patrol. He also enjoyed doing woodcraft; he built a bi-plane and grandfather clocks. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Shepherd Hickman; three sons, Henry Duane " Corky" Hickman and his wife Lexie of Little Rock; Billy G. Hickman and his wife Candy of Fayetteville; Ricky D. Hickman and his wife Angela of Winslow; two brothers, Dwain Hickman of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Carter J. Hickman of Givehans, S. C.; two sisters, Alice Ann Riggins of Springdale and Nina Ford of Mars Hill, N. C.; two stepsons, Leonard Shepherd of Elkins and Larry Shepherd of Winslow; six grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Graveside services will be at 10 a. m. Friday at Thorp Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Memorials may be made to Drake Field Air Museum, 4290 S. School, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Mrs. Carrie C. Hickman, aged 53, of Fayetteville, wife of Henry Ray [suppose to be Wright] (Hank) Hickman, died Monday. She was a member of Full Gospel Church. Other survivors are four sons, Henry D. Hickman of Little Rock, Bobby J. Hickman of Springdale, and Billy G. and Ricky D. Hickman, both Fayetteville; her mother, Hanna Keys of Fayetteville; six sisters, Ruby Hammer, Tennie Watkins, Millie Weir, Nora Smith and Lois Luper, all of Fayetteville, and Ada Davis of Tennessee; two brothers, George Harding of Okmulgee, Okla., and Brady Harding of Fayetteville, and nine grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Tharp Cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Mike Smith, Ricky Ritch, Paul Skelton, Howard Leach, Jackie Ritch, and Bill Skelton.
