SHERIDAN — Gordon Buster Whitaker, 68, of Sheridan, died Sunday at his home. He was born March 18, 1937, at Avawam, Ken, a son of the late Gordon B and Dora Boggs Whitaker. He was retired from Trinity Industries as General Manager. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Whitaker, and a sister, Mary Katherine Whitaker. Survivors include his wife (married 28 Nov 1979), Gisela Stutz Whitaker; a son, Gordon Daniel Whitaker of Sheridan; three daughters, Eva Howell and Dora Whitaker, both of Sheridan, and Rita Couter of Cincinnati, Ohio; four brothers, Joe Daniel Whitaker, Ikie Whitaker, Junior Young and James Young; eight sisters, Virginia Melton, Maurine Whitaker, Pauline Smith, Wanda Faye Williams, Emma Louise Bingham, Molly Sue Coots, Evelyn Begley and Etta Young; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Michael Walton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
