J. W. Weller Passes Away
Mr. John H. Weller, one of the best-known citizens of this part of the county died at his home near Iuka last Wednesday, January 30, at 1 p.m., at the age of 72 years.
He took sick about ten days ago with an attack of influenza.
Burial took place at the Wayland Arbor Cemetery, Rev. Lantz Langston of this place, pastor of the Methodist church at Iuka, conducting the services.
Mr. Weller was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, Dec 23, 1856 and was married May 15, 1882 to Miss Minnie Lewis of Elizabethtown, Ky. To this union were born one son and three daughters, Lewis H. Weller, of Roswell, New Mexico; Mrs. Lucy Shireman of Denver, Colo.; Mamie and Maud Weller of Orlando, Fla. The family removed to Colorado in 1887, where they resided until 1907, when they came to this state, locating near Iuka.
Mr. Weller was a good citizen, Highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was one of this section’s most progressive farmers and did much to further the interest of his community. His wife, one son and three daughters survive.

Misses Mamie and Maude Weller, who were called here last week on account of the death of their father, Mr. J. H. Weller, near Iuka, left Tuesday for Orlando, Fla. where they have been located for the past few years.
