Honey Owns was born the daughter of Lester Nile Ellison and Ruby Deloris Bench Ellison on August 7,1960 in Mammoth Spring,Arkansas and departed this life October 17,2010 at her home near Salem,Arkansas at the age of 50 years.She was united in marriage at Lanton,Missouri in 1979 to Gary Owens.She is survived by her husband,Gary Owens of Salem,Arkansas;one daughter,Chasity Carter and husband,Ted of Salem,Arkansas;one son,Gary Owens,Jr.,of Salem,Arkansas;two grandchildren,Paige Hollis and Ryan Hollis of Salem,Arkansas;seven brothers and sisters,Butch Ellison of Salem,Arkansas,Elois Ann Kish of Chapel Hill,Tennessee,Teensie Hensley of Granite City,Illinois,Janice Hensley of Salem,Arkansas,Nova Morgan of Pomona,Missouri,Edna York of Mammoth Spring,Arkansas and Junior Ellison of West Plains,Missouri;her father-in-law,Sonny Owens of Yakima,Washington;several nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents;Lester and Ruby Ellison;one infant sister,Ruby Jean Ellison;three nephews,Jimmy Flood,Brian,Flood and Larry Andrews;her mother-in-law,Marilyn Owens;one sister-in-law,Mandy Owens and one brother-in-law,Larry Hensley.Honey was a Certified Nurses Aideand a former employee of Fulton County Hospital.Her favorite pastime was going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren,Paige and Ryan.She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith,a devoted wife,mother,grandmother and sister.She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.Funeral services will be Wednesday,October 20,2010 at 1:00p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer.
