Mary Ellon Achenback Halsell, age 68 of Plainview died Monday, August 11, 2008 at St. Anthonys Hospital in Morrilton. She was born January 1, 1940 in Bemidji, Minnesota to the late Edward Lyons and Lavora McFarren Achenbach. She was a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Angela Halsell and husband, C. W. Halsell, Sr.
Survivors include son, Carvel W. and Rhonda Halsell, Jr. of Jessieville; daughters & sons-in- law, Dianna & Johnny Emery of Plainview, Bobbie Jo & Randy Westbrook of Plainview; brothers, Edwin Achenbach of Idaho, Franklin Achenbach of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 10 nephews; three nieces and numerous cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held August 14, 2008 at New Life Outreach Church in Danville with Bro. W. A. Gorman officiating. Burial was in Dry Fork Cemetery in Hollis, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Hunter & Grant Halsell, Dewayne Wilson, Loren Wilson, Shannon Crawford and Kenneth Halsell. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Waylen Halsell, Sr. age 69, of Plainview, AR, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at his home. He was born in Buckville, AR on March 31, 1934 son of the late Odie Dewey and Vivian Aleen Bradley Halsell. He was a retired logger, and partner in H and H Stump Removal. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anglea Halsell.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Ellon Achenbach Halsell; a son, Carvel Waylen Halsell, Jr. of Jessieville, AR; two daughters, Dianna Emery and Bobbie Westbrook both of Plainview, AR; two brothers, Jim Halsell of Jessieville and Dewey Halsell of Onyx; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Jessieville and Wanda Laplante of Hot Springs, AR; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was May 27, 2003 at the Onyx Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Yates officiating. Burial was in Dry Fork Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. (WWW.YellCountyObits.org, Yell County Record, Danville, Arkansas: Obituary was published on Wednesday, May 28, 2003)
