Charlie D Skidmore dies here at 52

Charlie Dale Sidmore, 52, of the Rodney Community, a construction worker and World War II veteran, died Wednesday of last week at Baxter General Hospital.

A lifetime resident of this area, he was born at Pineville on Nov. 1, 1920, the son of James Albert Skidmore and the former Sarah Matilda (Stowers). He was married to Rachel Leona Farris on Apriul 01, 1939. Mr. Skidmore served in the Army during World War II and was the holder of the Purple Heart award.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rachel Skidmore of Rodney; two sons, Robert Dale of Jordan and Coy L. of Rodney; his parents, Mr and Mrs. James Skidmore of Calico Rock; and a brother. Jesse Harrison Skidmore of Pineville. Two children preceded him in death.

Services were conductred Saturday at the Wayland Arbor Church in Izard County, with Rev. Price Lovelace officiating. Interment was in the Wayland Arbor Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Waid Killian, Eudell Southard, Bill Hendrix, Oril Sanders, Clyde Southard and Talley Clinton.
