The Dolph Baptist Cemetery is on the south side of County Road #41 across the road from the much older Wayland Arbor Cemetery. Both cemeteries are about 2-1/2 miles south of Dolph.
Vernard Sanders, who is buried in the Wayland Arbor Cemetery, originally donated about one half acre of land for the cemetery. Then in July 1979, Charles and Alberta Sanders donated an additional adjacent acre. Charles Sanders had the cemetery chartered at the Secretary of State's office in Little Rock as the Sanders Memorial Cemetery. Some people have also referred to it as the Wayland Baptist Cemetery. The congregation of the Dolph Baptist Church eventually re-named the cemetery as the Dolph Baptist Cemetery, and that name is clearly displayed on the wrought iron gate entrance.
The obituaries of many of the people buried in this cemetery indicate that burial was in the Wayland Arbor Cemetery, Wayland Baptist Cemetery, or the Sanders Memorial Cemetery. Those designations are still contained in some recent obituaries.
