Billy Rex "Jug" McClellan son of Donald Eldridge McClellan and Vida Ardeen (Sanders) McClellan.

Private McClellan served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. A time when many did not support the military operations in Vietnam. He received a General Discharge under Honorable Conditions and after his death a Presidential Memorial Certificate from President George W. Bush. After his military service he was employed at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in Kansas and assisted the war effort by making ammunition for the troops in the field.
