April 19, 1890 - June 5, 1977
Lynch Field Machen, 87, of 837 Field Ave., died Sunday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Proctor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery in Columbia County. He was a retired International Paper Company employe, a member of the Church of Christ and had lived in Camden 35 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Carter Machen of Camden; a son, James E. Machen, Sr. of Village; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Laurie Wilson of Magnolia and Mrs. Helen Foster of New Orleans, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. (Camden News - June 6, 1977)
