October 14, 1952 - May 22, 2006
Sandra Kay Smith, 53, of Greenbrier went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22nd, 2006 after a short two-month vicious battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends in her home upon her passing. She was born on October 14th, 1952 in Conway to the late Clastion K. Rhodes and is survived by her mother, Audrey L. Rhodes of Greenbrier.
She was blessed to have had 35 wonderful years of marriage to her loving husband, Lionel A. Smith. She adored him greatly.
She is survived by five children who were each a very special and rare jewel to her. Eldest son, Hershel A. Smith of Greenbrier, Lionel “Sam” Smith of Conway; Noretta Faye Smith, Robin Michelle Smith and Morgan Leigh Smith all of Greenbrier; by her brother: Kenneth Charles Rhodes of Greenbrier, by several grandchildren: Jacob Aaron Smith, Jessi Marie Smith, Kali Cherie Hardy, Dalton Wayne Smith and Brittney Rose Smith all of Greenbrier; James Isaac Smith of Bee Branch, Madeline (Maddy) Claire Smith, Jacqueline (Jackie) Simone Smith and Samuel Remington Smith all of Enola; one great-grandchild: Joseph Trever Blaine Smith of Batesville, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Sandra graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1970. A big part of enjoyment in Sandra’s life was through her very active 21 years of involvement with the Conway Farmers Market and also worked for Wal-Mart for 15 years.
She was known as a hard-working woman who loved to work up a sweat in her garden and her yard. She loved her children and grandchildren with an enormous passion that you couldn’t help but to see and feel daily. She was full of life and always had a smile for you. Her gentle giving humorous and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who had been blessed to have known her and to have been a part of her world.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 26th at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Shady Grove officiated by Rev. Mike Hairston with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 pm Thursday at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501.327.7727).
Pallbearers are: Chris Barnett, Matt Barnett, Isaac Smith, Jacob Smith, John Wayne Lindsey and Adam Rhodes.
