1870 - October 20, 1964
Mrs. Sallie Lewis Askew, 94, widow of J. H. Askew of Waldo, died Tuesday afternoon in a Magnolia hospital. A member of the Waldo Methodist Church, she was born near Mt. Holly, the daughter of Martha Wilson and Jefferson Davis Lewis. She is survived by a son, J. E. Askew, a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Beasley, both of Waldo' and 16 grandchildren, one of whom is Mrs. Grady Herring, 1211 W. Main St. El Dorado. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home, Magnolia, with the Rev. Horace Grogan officiating. Burial will be in the Waldo Cemetery.
