Virgie Morris Buford, 77, of Ft. Smith, AR, formerly of Nimrod, AR, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born October 24, 1927 in Mt. Ida, AR to Everett and Ella Talent Ridpath. She married Herman Shorty Morris on December 6, 1956 and after his passing she married Robert M. Buford on January 1, 1977. She was owner of Virgie's Monogramming. She was a member of the Arkansas Bluegrass Association and a member of the Unity Baptist Church of Ft. Smith AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Herman "Shorty" Morris; one brother, Carl Ridpath.

Survivors include her husband, Robert M. Buford of Ft. Smith; one son, Michael Wayne Morris of Ft. Smith; four sisters, Juanita Dennison and Ruby Scott of Ft. Smith, Lois Bentley of North Little Rock, and Joyce Rye of Mansfield, AR; and seven nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Nimrod Cemetery in Perry County with Brother Neil Prock officiating. Burial followed by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation was at 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Internet obituary maybe found at Legacy.com.
