Son of Elmer Arthur Mitchell & Ella Gertrude Smith Mitchell.
Married Myrtle Audean Ivie March 29, 1942, Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas.

Obituary for Fredis Mitchell:

Fredis Mitchell, son of the late Elmer Arthur Mitchell and Ella Smith Mitchell, was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Mitchell, AR. He departed this life on Feb. 5, 2008, at his home in Pineville, AR, at the age of 84.

He was united in marriage to Myrtle Ivie on March 29, 1942, in Calico Rock, AR.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII. During his working years, he owned and operated the grocery store in Pineville for 28 years. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by: one son Jimmy Mitchell; 2 sisters Lois Carpenter and Ercille Mooney; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one son-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Myrtle; one sister, Velma Hankins; one brother, Leslie Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood Officiating. Burial followed at Pineville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Darrell Killian, Terry Seay, Gerald Woods, Rex Whiteaker, Danny Moser and Junior Owens. Honorary pallbearers were: Randy Mooney, Jerry Mooney and Bill Hankins. Memorials may be made to the Pineville Cemetery.
