Bess Edwards, age 91, of Aplin , passed away peacefully at her home Friday, October 22, 2010. She is the daughter of the late Earnest and LaVey Clayton of Aplin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Edwards; and son, Wallace Clayton Edwards. She was owner of a small family grocery store in Aplin for many years. After retiring she worked with the Perryville Volunteer School System and was Secretary of the Aplin EHC Club. She was a member of the Aplin Church of Christ. She touched so many lives and was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Scogins; four grandchildren, Rodney Scogins (Patti) of Russellville, Jason Edwards of Little Rock, Clay Edwards (Stefanie) of Chicago, Illinois, Meeka Smith (Ryan) of Benton; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Ann Taylor and Mickey Jones of Aplin; one brother, Earnest L. Clayton (Emma Jean) of St. Joseph, Missouri; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Aplin Church of Christ with Mr. Charles Smith and Mr. Neal Chism officiating. Burial will be at Smyers Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net
