Accidental Shot From Rifle Fatal to Mrs. Fountain
Mrs. Lillie Fountain aged about 64, was killed instantly shortly after noon Thursday when a bullet from a .22 automatic rifle in the hands of her son, Eldridge Fountain, discharged accidentally, striking her in the heart.
The son was seated in the living room of the home engaged in cleaning the gun, and had taken it apart, unaware that one shell had been left in the magazine of the weapon. A short while after Mrs. Fountain entered the room the weapon fired.
Mrs. Fountain was the wife of John W. Fountain and the family home is located about one mile east of Pineville and about four miles northeast of Calico Rock.
Funeral arrangements are as yet incomplete.
