James N. "Pete" Reddin, a lifetime resident of Calhoun County, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010.
He was a World War II veteran, who retired from Continental Can Company. Pete attended the Hampton First Baptist Church.
He was an avid sportsman who especially enjoyed quail hunting & watching the Razorback games.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Meriam Abbott Reddin, His parents were James Hardy & Sudie Johnston Reddin, & his sister was Mable Reddin Dunn.
He is survived by his wife Mabel Hearnsberger Reddin; stepson Ed Hearnsberger & wife Sandra of Texas, their daughters Lisa Thomas of Georgia & Leigh Daniels of New York along with five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews James K. Dunn & wife Kay of Illinois & Charles Dunn & wife Terry of North Carolina. He had two favorite nieces; Martha Lynn Dunn of Magnolia & Marci Liles of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hampton. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery, with the Rev. Clint Ritchie & Rev. Buddy Hamner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday February 15, 2010 at the funeral home in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
