H. H. Ducker of Pineville Dies in Tractor Accident
Hershel H. Ducker life long resident of Pineville, Ark., was killed instantly late Sunday afternoon, March 4, when a tractor turned over crushing him as he was trying to get it out of the mud where it had been stuck. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ducker, was born at Pineville, Ark., November 3, 1903 and died at the age of 52 years, 4 mo and 1 day.
He was united in marriage to Miss Edna Hively of Calico Rock. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter, Lyndel of Calico Rock, Donald of Pineville, David of Little Rock and Mrs. Helen King of Pineville. Besides his wife and children he is survived by two brothers, R. E. Ducker of Texas and W. C. Ducker of Little Rock and eight sisters: Mrs. C. E. Roe of Viola, Mrs. George Kirkman of Oklahoma, Mrs. M. W. Yancey of Pineville, Mrs. Homer Harber of Wiseman, Mrs. S. H. Bullock of Eureka Springs, Mrs. P. L. Wayland, Pineville and Mrs. Gordon O’Neal of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. J. H. Wiseman, Searcy, Ark., eight grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
He was converted early in life and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Pineville and was always an active member. He was serving as an Elder at the time of his death and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially the Pineville community.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6th at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church at Pineville with Rev. Y. Whitfield and Rev. G. D. Short of Pineville officiating. Burial was made in Pineville Cemetery, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home.
