Raymond Odell Rorie, age 84, of Canton, Texas, formerly of Bigelow, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007. He was born May 20, 1923 in Danville, Arkansas, a son of John Osburn Rorie and Cora Agnes Thurston Rorie. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and was a strong Christian, family man, and soul winner.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Delialah Rorie of Canton, Texas; four sons, Joseph David Rorie (Shirley) of Deleon, Texas, Jimmy Dell Rorie (Diane) of Gun Barrel, Texas, Larry Dewitt Rorie of Bigelow, Arkansas, Howell Mark Rorie (Marcalene) of Canton, Texas; daughter, Pamela Gail Mullin (Mitchell) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jesse Daniel Rorie and John Paul Rorie; three sisters, Ruby Ozelman McMoran, Martha Nell Lupton, and Ruth Claypool; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, at Eubank Chapel in Canton, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2007, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Near Bigelow, with Rev. Mark Rorie and Rev. Tony Rorie officiating. Local arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
