Lucy Mae Jeffryes Byrd, 82, Houston, Arkansas passed away June 22, 2007. She was the widow of Clyde Loren Byrd. Mrs. Byrd was born on June 6, 1925 in Casa, Arkansas, a daughter of James Edmond Jeffryes and Ethel Cherry Jeffryes. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church. Church Secretary and Treasurer for 38 years and a retired thread trimmer for Levi Strauss and Company.
Survivors include four sons; Ralph W. Byrd and Ray L. Byrd both of Houston; Randell L. Byrd of Conway and Ronald S. Byrd of Bryant; two daughters, Carolyn J. Harmon of Conway; Karen Laramie of Newalla, Oklahoma; two brothers, A.J. Jeffryes of Mantua, Ohio; Harley Jeffryes of Conway; one sister, Velma Corder of Perryville; twenty five grandchildren, forty two great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services: Monday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church by her sons, Rev. Randell L. Byrd and Rev. Ronald S. Byrd, with her Grandsons serving as her pallbearers, Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery near Houston, by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at the funeral home in Morrilton.
