*Obituary
We regret to learn of the death of J. S. McKay, which occurred at his home on Route 1 last week. The deceased came here from Oregon a short while ago, and purchased the J. L. Barger place. He had won the respect and esteem of his neighbors, who extend to the bereaved wife and son their deepest sympathy. (Nevada County Picayune - January 11, 1917)
