Gulley R. Seay

Gulley R. Seay, age 79, of Pineville, Arkansas, died March 18, 1974, in the Calico Rock Medical Center.

He was a retired farmer, World War I Veteran, and a member of Spring Creek Methodist Church. He was a life long resident of Izard County.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Seay of Pineville, Ark.; Five sons, Jack R. Seay and Glenn H. Seay of Calico Rock; Dale G. Seay of Houston, Tex.; Paul W. Seay of Guion, Arkansas; Maurice H. Seay of Jordon, Arkansas; one daughter Mrs. Kathleen C. Burford of Gulf Port, Mississippi, 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jasper Seay of Texas; Muncy Seay of Texas; and Joe Seay of California; four sisters, Mary Cameron Beatrice Boren, Vivian Patterson, All of Oregon and Zelma Hankins of Calico Rock, Arkansas.

Pallbearers were: Tollie Clinton, Jay Dixon, Stanley Drown, Donald Ducker, Vector (Victor) Harbor, and H. T. Whitfield.

Funeral Service was held Wed., March 20, at 2:00 p.m. in Pineville Presbyterian Ch., with ministers Garland Skidmore and Remmel Rowden officiating, interment in Pineville Cemetery.

(Note: There are several slight differences in the spelling and the order of his first two names. His double gravestone with Stella W. Seay has his name inscribed as Gulley R. Seay; however, his military gravestone has the name listed as Gully R. Seay. The Social Security Death Index has him listed as Gulley Seay. His World War I Draft Registration was under the name of Ransom Gulley Seay; however, he signed the form as Randsom Gulley Seay.)
